Cultural Precinct project
Burnie Regional Museum, in collaboration with Kerryn Campbell, presents a nostalgic exhibition exploring Burnie’s architectural past. Celebrating Kerryn’s passion for capturing historic buildings in her art, and delving into the Museum’s collection of original photographs and objects, the exhibition showcases some of the town’s lost and remaining architectural gems.
Kerryn Campbell grew up on Wilmot Street, Burnie during a time of great change in the architectural landscape of the town. Buildings that spoke of the industrial town’s earliest days and those that carried the names and memories of the people of their time, were making way for 20th century iterations. Drawn from the Past couples Kerryn’s detailed drawings of notable buildings with historical photographs and objects to celebrate the beauty of the architecture of the period.
