A pop-up art exhibition of Dream Burnie on display in the Long Room at Burnie Arts from 3 - 20 March 2025

Dream Burnie is a collection of stories about Burnie people. In particular, the creative ones.

This is the Burnie of our dreams. The best bits of the past and the culture we hold dear’ 

Officially launched on Feb 3rd, 2025. The Dream Burnie book tour has travelled throughout February, around Tasmania and up the Eastern Seaboard of Australia and now will be on display in March at Burnie Arts.

Written by Burnie born Justin Heazlewood the Dream Burnie Book will be on display and available for purchase for $34.95.

Accompanying the Dream Burnie book are displayed works on loan from the following artists:

Barbie Kjar, Tony Thorne, Sally Rees, Oslo Davis, Matt Warren, Lisa Garland, Stuart Campbell, Kashka Hardy, Lisa Garland and Michaela Gleave.

All these people are from Burnie and are showcased in Justin Heazlewood’s latest work Dream Burnie.

Did you know:

*   Michaela Gleave has 220 million YouTube views

*   Stuart Campbell has made digital art for Hollywood movies

*   Sabien Lynch’s band Alpha Wolf was this year Grammy nominated for Best Box Set.   They lost to John Lennon!

*   Craig Leeson’s film prompted a ban on single use plastic bags

*   Justin Heazlewood had two songs in Triple J’s Hottest 100 as The Bedroom Philosopher.

*   Tony Thorne won a Logie in 2018 for his work as Director of Little J and Big Cuz

The Dream Burnie launch tour is assisted by Arts Tasmania.
