SELECTION OF WORK
The Burnie Print Prize is a selected exhibition. Entries will be determined by four judges, assessed from submitted digital images. Entrants will be notified of their successful/unsuccessful entry by the 29th of November 2024. Selection of the acquisitive Burnie Print Prize will be made by the four judges in situ, once the exhibition is installed in its entirety. Their decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

INSURANCE
Artworks selected for exhibition will be insured during the period of the exhibition while on site. The Burnie Regional Art Gallery accepts no responsibility for loss or damage during transit. Entrants are advised to insure their own work during transit to and from the Gallery. Please inform the Gallery of any specific insurance and inspection requirements. Due to staffing resources, works will only be condition inspected up to two weeks following their arrival. Receipt of work does not imply good condition.

SHIPPING
All shipping and packaging costs are to be assumed by the entrant including return shipping costs. All works will be returned in packaging supplied.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
The Burnie Print Prize is open to artists living and working in Australia. Neither employees of Burnie City Council nor their family members are eligible to enter the award.

Artists are invited to enter one work only (this may be composed of several elements). The work must be in excellent condition and should have been completed within two years prior to November 2024.

Two-dimensional work may be either framed or unframed. If the work is framed, you must give the Gallery permission to attach D-rings to the back of the frame to suit the Gallery’s hanging system. If standard hanging mounts or fittings are not suited to the artwork, detailed installation instructions must be included on the entry form.

Artists should note that all the works entered into the exhibition must be eligible for acquisition. Please note, as a Tasmanian public gallery, BRAG is unable to offer the works for sale to the public.

All enquiries will be passed on to the artist or their representative. On the entry form the market value of the work must be indicated for insurance purposes.

Entrants must affirm that they are the original creators of the submitted artworks and hold all necessary rights and permissions to enter the artwork into the competition. Any infringement of third-party rights will result in immediate disqualification.

By entering the competition, entrants grant permission for their artworks to be displayed, reproduced, and promoted by the organizers for the purposes of the competition, including but not limited to publication in print and online media, social media channels, and promotional materials.

The organizers reserve the right to modify or amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.

Entrants are advised to review the terms periodically for any updates or changes.

By submitting an entry, entrants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to abide by all the terms and conditions outlined above.

PLEASE NOTE

Entries are open only to print medium artworks. This includes artworks created through techniques such as relief printing, intaglio printing, planographic printing, and stencil printing. Digital reproductions of print artworks are also eligible for submission, provided the original artwork was created using traditional printmaking methods.

Artworks created using other mediums such as painting, drawing, sculpture, digital art (excluding digital reproductions of print artworks), photography, and mixed media are not eligible for entry.
